Gazipasa ligt ca. 40 km ten oosten van Alanya en de twee baans weg wordt 4 baans.
Het gros van het toerisme is gecentraliseerd rond het Selinusstrand (het hoofdstrand) van 2,5km lang en tot 150m breed. Een ideale plek om te zwemmen, waar de lucht en de natuurlijke omgeving zo schoon zijn.
Het stadje Gazipasa is een middelgrote provincieplaats met veel rust en ruimte waar het echte Turkije nog vol tot zijn recht komt. Gazipasa nog niet erg bekend en nog door weinig toeristen ontdekt is gelegen aan een prachtige baai waar u heerlijk kunt zonnen aan het strand.
De zachte zeewind zorgt voor een natuurlijke verkoeling, zodat het er erg aangenaam is!
De zee loopt bovendien langzaam af waardoor het erg veilig is voor kleine kinderen.
Wekelijks is er 2 keer markt en winkels zijn er volop alsmede supermarkten, 4 banken met allen pinautomaten. Een modern ziekenhuis en een privé kliniek ontbreken niet. Ook zijn de grondprijzen er relatief laag.
Gazipasa, waar voornamelijk aan landbouw wordt gedaan, is zeer bekend voor haar heerlijke en smaakvolle banaantjes die in de vele plantages groeien; plantages die nu verstrengeld zitten met de antieke historische steden Selinus en Iotape wiens geschiedenis terugggaat tot 2000 voor Christus, wat het voor historici een aangename plek maakt om op ontdekkingstocht te gaan.
Gazipasa heeft een typisch Mediterraan klimaat en plantengroei maar heeft een authentiekere levensstijl.
Gazipasa is een badplaats in volle ontwikkeling met tal van mogelijkheden.
Gazipasa is de naam van een paradijs, dat tussen het groen van het Taurusgebergte en het turqoise van de Middelandse Zee verstopt ligt.
In Gazipasa is het leven nog rustig met zijn vele restaurantjes, de vriendelijk mensen en de prachtige natuur rondom de stad. Om uit te gaan naar de grote stad is men met een half uur in Alanya om vervolgens weer tot rust te komen in Gazipasa.
Gazipasa werd in 678 v.Ch. aan de rivier Hacimusa ( Kestros ) als een havenstad gesticht en Selinus genoemd. Van hier uit werd vooral zeehandel naar Egypte en Cyprus bedreven.
Nadat de stad door de Grieken aan de romeinen overgegeven was, heeft sultan Alaeddin Keykubat in 1225 n.Ch. de stad Selinus veroverd.
Later werd de stad ook vanwege de vele overstromingen tot "Selinti" omgedoopt.Maar vanwege het dappere verzet van de stadsbewoners tegen de vijand, heeft Atatürk de stad op 21.10.1922 geëerd met de naam "Gazipasa".

The buildings of the ruins are a lock of the middle age, odeon, a handle, the water way and a Necropolis, which were dated to the Roman and Byzanz periods.
